I have a TS-PC Thrustmaster, but games like that I like to play more comfortably in my comfy armchair, so arcade racing games I play on controller and started testing between 50% and 60% stability control and for now ( I haven't played much yet) I've enjoyed the "handling" of the car.Īnd as for the gear, I'm used to playing manual, I've always played that way, so it's a personal matter in a game like that, as you said, shouldn't make much difference in terms of performance."To do something dangerous with style is art."Īrt of rally is a stylized experience inspired by the golden era of rally from the creator of Absolute Drift Wow, I had an "idea snap" and figured that at 50% it should be a pretty interesting middle ground. I also use automatic transmission since i prefer to have fun with this game, the "full sim" mode, I leave it for, well, sims like ACC, and when I decide to go tryhard mode in time attack I can go in the top ten most of the times (without ♥♥♥♥ like clutch kicking or stupid cuts to take advantage of some aspects of the game or some corners of the stages, that for me are almost like cheating but makes beating some of those times even more satisfying) At 50% the understeer is minimal, barely noticeable in many cases. In the end imho it's best to have fun with every car instead of being good only with some of them. That's why I have personally chosen to set it to 50% after some tests after months of playing with it set to zero (playing with keyboard now, I was using my G29 wheel when the game came out). If you're using keyboard you still can easily control a good number of cars, but some become really tricky. But that's done best with a gamepad or wheel. The assist brings understeer mid corner, so it would be preferably be set to zero if you can control the car without much problems. Gamepad, keyboard, or, if it works, a wheel. So, as you said and taking advantage of fidelio's answer, it's really a personal question and also about the type of car you're using.īesides personal taste, it also depends on what you use. The whole being to have fun.Īh, thank you, everything you have a lot of sense to me, and I use manual transmission too, I prefer to "feel" the car more. Unfortunately, in the game, the cuts make the difference much more than the settings. yet I sometimes manage to reach the top 10 in automatic. Besides, for some cars in the game, the challenge is really to keep it on the track, more than to set a stopwatch. There are some cars that I can drive absolutely without any help (although I always stay in auto speed), while for others I have to greatly increase the stability, otherwise I will get nothing. The idea is to find the setting with which you are more comfortable with the car. On a rally special of more than 2 minutes where small errors are frequent, the possible time savings brought by this kind of adjustment is negligible. This is valid for the f1 and gt, and easier to judge the impact on laps where we are able to have a very precise reference time.
